With mask removed as he arrived back at the White House following days of hospitalization for CORONAVIRUS, U.S. President Donald Trump was discharged Monday evening from Walter Reed Medical Center near Washington.

US President Donald Trump has left hospital, three days after being admitted with Covid-19, vowing to be back on the campaign trail soon.

President Trump was hospitalized on Friday evening shortly after he announced that he and First Lady Melanie Trump were tested positive for COVID-19.  He flew for a short trip back to the White House on the presidential helicopter Marine One from the Medical Center.

Questions remain over the seriousness of Mr Trump’s illness after a weekend of conflicting statements. The true scale of the outbreak at the White House remains unclear.
Wearing a navy business suit, tie and mask, Mr Trump walked out of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center today pumping his fist. “Feeling really good!” Mr Trump tweeted earlier. “Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life,” the 74 year-old President said.

On Monday morning, 50 year-old First Lady Melanie Trump tweeted that she “is grateful for all of the prayers and support. I am feeling good and will take time to rest at home. Thank you medical staff and caretakers everywhere and my continued prayers for those who are ill or have a family member impacted by the virus”.

More than 7.4 million cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the US. The virus has killed nearly 210,000 Americans.
