Suspect in Shooting of Federal Judge’s Son And Husband has died

The person suspected of killing the son of federal judge Esther Salas on Sunday at her North Brunswick home has died of what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Law enforcement sources say that 20-year-old Daniel Anderl, a student at Catholic University, was killed upon opening the front door to the gunman who appeared to be wearing a FedEx uniform.

Salas’ husband, Mark Anderl, who is a defense attorney, was injured during the shooting, according to Chief Judge Freda Wolfson.

Judge Salas was unharmed. Her brother said her husband is in stable condition.

Both the US Marshals and FBI are investigating the shooting.It is not yet known whether the gunman was a FedEx employee or someone posing to be an employee.
